November 2008 Archives
Good morning. I would like to take a moment to thank every employee of Manka Bros. for your work over the past year. We've had a very challenging year to say the least. However, with our recent massive cutbacks and layoffs as well as our elimination of pensions, we are well on our way to fiscal recovery. Still, there will be more changes and sacrifice to come in 2009. But we don't have to worry about that this week. This week, I would only like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!
I am off to my Gstaad house with Rebecca De Mornay, Alice & Sheryl Cooper and Jeff & Caryn Zucker and won't be back until some time next week.
P.S. - Please feel free to leave on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. and don't bother coming in on Friday until 9:30 a.m.
Good morning. Just a quick note to the retired and soon to be retired employees of Manka Bros... your pensions have been eliminated. As of today (November 14, 2008), you will not receive another check. This blog will serve as your official notice.
The senior management of Manka Bros. apologizes for this inconvenience. To help you through this difficult time, I would like to offer (to all of those who qualify) an additional 10% discount at our studio stores through the end of this month. Happy Holidays!
Khan Manka, Jr. - Chairman & CEO - Manka Bros. Studios
P.S. - I have secured Dodger Stadium for our 2008 Holiday Party!

Good afternoon. I have a quick announcement concerning Manka Bros.' future in the high-definition DVD space.
After a long and sometimes violent conversation with Toshiba President & CEO Atsutoshi Nishida, I am proud to announce that Manka Bros. is committing 100% to the HD-DVD format. This was not an easy decision - especially considering the current momentum of the Blu-ray format. But I made the decision and that is that.
So... as of today, Manka Bros. will be the only major Hollywood studio distributing movies and television in the HD-DVD format going forward. I am expecting, however, the other studios to dump Blu-ray and come over to our side in the near future (perhaps right after Christmas).
I am very excited to be exclusively in this superior format. I am also very excited that Mr. Nishida did not commit suicide as he had threatened to do several times during our conversation.

P.S. - Our first release under this exclusive agreement will be a Special Collector's Edition 2-Disc set Freak Accident starring Harland Williams.

Good morning. Just a quick note to inform you all that I will return after the very important November 4th election. I haven't been blogging too much lately because I've been busy saving the company from financial collapse.
I do have much report when I return to this forum on November 5th (or 6th depending on how hungover I am after the election).
I'll give you one little tidbit before I sign off here... Sumner Redstone has been staying at my house ever since he announced his divorce a couple of weeks ago. We've had quite a few wild nights (details to come). Needless to say, he's the craziest 86 year old I've ever met.
