Gossip Girls To Appear On 30 Rock

Gossip Girl stars Blake Lively and Leighton Meester have reportedly signed a deal to guest-star on U.S. TV show 30 Rock.

The actresses, who play spoiled students in their hit TV series, will feature in a Gossip Girl-inspired flashback sequence on 30 Rock during main character Liz Lemon's 20-year high school reunion, according to Ew.com.

But fans of the programme will be in for a shock as the sequence will reveal geeky Lemon, who is played by the sitcom's creator Tina Fey, was actually a bullying teenager.

WBTV's new drama "Gossip Girl" has become the first new fall show to be picked up for a full season of episodes. The buzzed-about series is also a hit on iTunes, where its two most recent episodes rank among the top five downloaded shows on the site. "Gossip Girl" airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on The CW.

Excellent. A full season of Vidar's favorite really bad show.

'Tis not meet for men to mock at what befalls fully many.

This is a really dumb show. It's not even of the 'this is so dumb it's great' kind of show (like "The Hills"). This one is just dumb. But it does a real kick ass sleaze-bag... and his name is Chuck Bass (played perfectly sleazily by Ed Westwick).

I've known bad guys before and I've dealt with one of the worst of all time - Loki. This son of a frost giant was an attractive, ambivalent, mischief-making god. Much like Chuck Bass. Loki was often called the Sly One, the Trickster, the Shape Changer, the Sky Traveller (I'm not sure what Chuck Bass is called). Loki has grown progressively more evil, and caused the death of Balder (the most beloved of the Gods) and is currently bound by his own intestines until the coming of Ragnarok (the end of the world). I'm not sure if Chuck Bass is bound by anything and I doubt he's waiting for the end of the world. He's having too much fun.

It's too bad he's on a crappy show. If only the chicks were a little hotter or a little more evil like Chuck. Chuck is the only reason Vidar will keep watching.

Ken Burns' The War: Episode 6 - The Ghost Front

The Ardennes looked like a very cold place to fight a war. No colder than Jotenheim in winter where the King of the Front Giants, Thrym, once stole Thor's Hammer - Mjollnir - and paid for it with his life. Those were the days. The Battle of the Bulge seemed pretty tame in comparison. But those were mortal men and, I suppose [though Vidar hates to suppose] for mortals, it was a great battle.

Iwo Jima was a bad ass battle as well.

This episode was long and Vidar kept falling asleep. But I had a feeling the allies were going to win especially with Tom Hanks voice reading all that patriotic stuff.

Ken Burns' The War: Episode 5 - FUBAR

So this is Episode 5 of Ken Burns' The War I'm a little late into reviewing this series. I don't even know what FUBAR means. But I looked it up - "Fucked Up Beyond Repair" - I'm not sure what the 'A' stands for.

I had no idea World War 2 such a big deal. I don't want to say this is a LONG documentary... but the Norse Gods and I were able to avenge Baldar's death in a shorter time.

Is it just me, Vidar - the Silent God - or does it seem strange whenever a minority soldier is depicted. It almost seems like an afterthought - which seems very racist to me. Yes, I'm sure there were Eskimo soldiers, Manitoban soldiers, Kentuckians, etc. - but, man, stop preaching!

Grey's Anatomy: S4/E1 "A Change Is Gonna Come"

FULL DISCLOSURE: VIDAR HAS NEVER WATCHED THIS SHOW UNTIL LAST NIGHT.

So Season 4 of ABC's juggernaut "Grey's Anatomy" began last night with "A Change Is Gonna Come". Now I must say, my knowledge of "Grey's Anatomy" is pretty much limited to Entertainment Weekly stories about that gay bashing guy. I assumed that for a show like this that would be all the prep work that was needed. But Vidar was wrong. I don't know who any of these people are.

All I know is that poor, stupid Meredith appears totally weak. Why can't she seem to get away from this McDreamy character? Is it because he's 'mcdreamy'? She is weaker than Hel, the goddess of the underworld, whenever the Allfather Odin comes around asking for a favor... AND THAT'S REALLY WEAK.

Vidar will get up to speed - perhaps by watching seasons 1-3 on DVD.

Gossip Girl: S1/E2 "The Wild Brunch"

So Gossip Girl continues - now in its second week. Or should I say second "weak" - because it was sooooo weak.

This guy Chuck isn't as much of an asshole as most people would like. They're trying to make us "feel for him" by having his dad ride him or whatever. The key word here is "whatever".

Vidar will continue to watch but Vidar isn't liking what he sees.

Things I learned from GG Episode 2: That there is some sort of green milkshake concoction with some ingredient added with an eye dropper that, supposedly, cures a hangover. If true, this would be a valuable reason for this show to exist. But Vidar has his doubts.

Once upon a time, there was a show with under-age sex, under-age drinking, under-age drugs and an overage Vidar watching every second! You go, GG! You are the shit and you'd better not let Vidar down.
