Now we can all concentrate on making sure that DeAndre is the next to leave.
There is just something about the look on his face when he sings and the way his hair bounces up and down that makes most of America just want to smack him.
He has to be the next to leave – even though it is 80s Week and he’ll have a lot of “his type” of songs to sing which may give people the illusion that he is actually good.
He is not good. He is creepy.
So, the Top 8 remains intact from last week’s Top 9.
Hollie is still placed at #3 – though Elise has momentum and could easily switch places with Hollie – but for now Elise remains at #7 because she has ability to choke in a huge way.

It was the right move tonight. I agree that Hollie would have gotten the save. Next week it must be DeAndre and then it will be Skylar. Elise is a lock for the top 5.
I really agree with the top 8 elimination…I would say the competition is base on the talent of the contestants and not just the popularity. I would like to see Jessica and Phillip battle on the finale. Both of the contestants have different style but same beautiful voice.
No way phil is in the number 2 spot. He is terrible. I can’t stand this kid. I don’t really like Colton either. It’s a given that Deandre is going next. If he doens’t he will become this seasons Sanjaiya, he just needs a ponyhawk. It’s Jessica or Elise for first place. Hollie 3rd, Joshua 4th, or skyler 4th, Colton is 5th. Finally get rid of phil and Deandre is the very next one to go. I want to punch phil in the face I can’t stand this dude. He sucks!! He is polorizing just like Deandre is. Jimmy said it and it’s true. I hate them. It’s time for a woman to win this season!!
Jenn…why the hatin on Phillip? He has actual talent but won’t win because he won’t compromise. I agree that Deandre must go…Elise has much more to offer than Jessica, but the voters aren’t her demographic. Jessica cannot sing! Watch and listen…she has no breath control and can’t hold through a run without taking a breath.

I agree with Jeremy, Robert i Deaf! Jessica Sanchez proven her consistency each week being the best performer and vocalist.
You’re right about Deandre…But Joshua needs to go soon as well. You are actually on the Jessica bandwagon? She has no breath control…she breathes in the middle of runs that should be carried…
Hollie yell-sings everything and needs to go as well. I feel that the 3 most talented are Phillip, Colton and Elise…with Skylar right there as well. Unfortunately, Phillip won’t compromise himself so he will not win, Elise is the wrong demographic. That leaves this a run between Colton and Skylar. Watch and see!

No, I’m not on the Jessica bandwagon but I do think she will win. I would never buy anything she records and, frankly, she seems to be shrinking before our eyes. Is it just me or is she getting skinnier (if that’s possible)? She’ll be stick bones on six inch heels by the time the finals come along. Hollie is awkward and does push her voice too much (and the weird microphone switching between hands doesn’t help) but I’m sensing a resurgence from her. I initially had Phillip winning (two weeks ago) but think he’ll be the “shocker” Daughtry elimination. I’ll have to study Jessica’s performance a little more next week to check on that breath control.
I’m not sure about the comment on breath control, but as a fellow singer I would applaud her style of singing..for a Whitney Houston song that big to be sung almost as perfectly in a contest is no joke…I don’t think there has been an idol who sang a song that big and pulled it off like she did…so breath control issue? Think again…if she didn’t have it then someone else must have probably been singing at that time for her…those short and snappy comeback is what you call a singer’s style..it sounds good and she can sing it.
I agree? How can you talk of breath control when she can do those runs that she does? She would have done “I Will Always Love You” justice if she didn’t have breath control. We all know how hard that song is to sing let alone in a contest.
I think most is right. Elise is amazing but she doesn’t get the votes. DeAndre is terrible and needs to go. I think Colton has a great chance to win. He has a HUGE fanbase. He has likes from Ellen too! But he may get eliminated in that unlucky four spot. That’s where Chris Daughtry and James Durbin were eliminated and they had a huge shot at winning their season.
Wrong!! No way Elise is that early and Phillip is that late. I hate Phillip now. But give me a chance to explain. Phillip has done the same thing every week, just different songs. Boooo! Change it up a bit and take a risk, will you?!?! Oh, and by the way, James wasn’t shocking last year. I hated him, Scotty and Lauren.
What are these experts are talking about? How did they figure that out if there’s breathing control problem when she did great! She was singing fast tempo song,and it was a fantastic rendition. What was the problem about breathing control??? Haven’t you noticed….Jessica’s awesome timing in singing?…when she moves her fingers,and with her body movements…
Not feeling too good about my Hollie #3 pick. DeAndre still may be sent home (as long as the judges don’t waste their save on him). If Hollie survives tomorrow she is really going to have to step it up. Tonight was… not so good compared to everyone else. Skylar was better but still not great in my opinion. Joshua was unbe-freaking-lievable. It’s going to be so sad and wrong when he is sent home – because we know he’s not going to win.

You’re right about DeAndre being pretty ridiculous with his hair flipping and his perpetual falsetto.
I’m wondering about Joshua getting to bend the rules again — “When a Man Loves a Woman” got to count as a song from the year of his birth (1992) because a *remake* came out that year, even though the song is from 1966! Then did it again last night when he sang “If You Don’t Know Me by Now” as an 80’s song, even though it was written and released in 1972. (For what it’s worth, I was also a little annoyed that “I Will Always Love You” got to count as a Whitney song.)
On the save thing, I’m seriously wondering if they’ll use it at all this season. Maybe if something wacky happens and Jessica or Joshua get the axe this week, the judges’ll save. Or if Elise gets cut this week but the judges give her credit for her past exceptional performances. But as long as Hollie, DeAndre, and Skylar go the next three weeks, the other five are all really solid. I can’t imagine the judges would be too upset if one of them goes at #4 vs. #2 — they’re *all* really strong.
(Of course, $$$ means they have to use the save some time — they already lost an episode with Jermaine’s departure and they’re not going to give up ad revenue by cutting the season short by another week.)
