Well, maybe not. After all, it’s Colton that’s gone and not Jessica.
That was truly a scandaleux.
This week?
Meh.
I’m sure Colton’s first words after elimination were to Elise: “Dying dog? Really?!”
Ah, well, at least Colton is headed right into the studio to produce some whiny rock ass shit that no one will buy.
Perhaps he and Elliot Yamin can get a gig together at a “Howl At The Moon” in Dayton, Ohio.
Moving on.
The little match girl Hollie and the girl with the dying dog Elise survive but only for the next two weeks.
Next week? Elise goes home.
The following week? Hollie goes home.
After that? Things get really interesting.
Top 6 Power Rankings (by order of elimination):
That’s it. This is exactly how things will play out. There will be no more revisions to this list!
Vidar, like the rest of America, was not expecting Colton to go that early (but very happy that it happened).
Vidar – The Norse God of Silence, Stealth & Revenge
Serves you right, Colton, for stealing my thunder!
Not an entirely suprising outcome, after all, someone had to go.
Iovine is confusing re: Jessica singing songs outside her age. On Wed AI required them to sing one from 2000 or later (“Falling”, not an entirely bad choice for her age) and one soul classic (not her choice but theirs) so that’s a little confusing when you force this on them. Does he want her to sing Disney-Ariel-Jasmine-Miley-songs?!
Iovine was right about Colton. His mashup of Billy Idol-ness backed by Whitesnake, while dressed like a coppertop battery just didn’t go over well. But I think the low, almost-speaking voice range in both songs was his doing-in.
But my most vocal opinion is how, upon reflection, I am now thoroughly convinced that the producers manipulated the show last week by “almost sending home” Jessica. Right. Given that the B3 (predictions) this week were back to normal, it practically shouts “conspiricay!” last week to have almost dumped Jessica, not to mention the whole theatrical save episode of judges rushing the stage and fawning so much over Jessica. Last week was a big contrivance and manipulation merely to use the save because it would have been anticlimatic to wait until this week. Congrats to the producers. You got the publicity you wanted and apparently the votes flooded in this week. Well done! (But pathetic.)
“Iovine is confusing re: Jessica singing songs outside her age. …snip… Does he want her to sing Disney-Ariel-Jasmine-Miley-songs?!”
I agree with Jimmy’s comments. I had the same thought while she was performing her first song on Wednesday. It was way too lusty for a 16 year to perform, particularly Jessica who could pass for younger. She should sing cheezy, happy go lucky songs. (Yes Disney-Ariel-Jasmine-Miley songs) Something that a 16 year old can possibly relate too.
“Given that the B3 (predictions) this week were back to normal,”
I disagree, I am shocked (and happy) that Colton was in the bottom three and shocked (and happy) that he was eliminated.
Completely agree, schmoe. Shocked and happy as well.
its a shame Colton went home .I think we all know why he went home and so does he .What a shame I feel sorry for him that it ended that way all because of what he said. At the very least this should help future contestants not make the same mistakes. He is a great singer / artist I wish you all the best in the future .I will be listening for you , hope you plan to sing more christian rock I really enjoyed that last night.
Elise is the best singer, my fave because the girl can sing!, is nice has guts to talk back to the judges. Go NJ and did I say CAN SING? She is not annoying like some other idol contestants and I am hoping she can make top five. She so deserves it. lt’s her time. Jessica is too young. My prediction is that Philip x 2 will win.
You sound like someone who liked Haley Reinhart last year. Elise doesn’t have, in my opinion, but somehow she does connect with a pretty passionate base.
Run Jessica, run! Before you catch testone-cavanagh-ledet-laine-phillips disease. It’s probably the worst outbreak in ‘Idle’s’ history.
Having Jessica winning it all is ludacris. Phillip Phillips is by far the best and most creative singer the competition has ever seen. Jessica can’t sing anything but ballads, and I have a feeling that Skylar, Phillip, and Colton will have way better careers than Jessica ever dreamed of.
Let’s be fair here: Jessica has widened up her zone. She covered a slowed-down Beyonce, an un-ballad R&B in Jazmine Sullivan and showed some grit with Otis Redding. And you really call Phillip creative? If by that, you mean “makes songs sound all monotonously bland,” then I’d agree with you.
I pray that Phillip Phillips loses. His voice is not appealing, nor are his physical actions during a LIVE concert. His voice sounds so strange to me, it is not good to me. Based on criteria and talent, I think Skylar Laine or Jessica Sanchez will be the winnder of American Idol. Their voices are so unique an exquisite. I just love it.
What’s the matter with you people.. Why all of you hate Jessica.. Please leave her alone. You are just very jealous. Anyway in a competition like these you are just trying to pull the front runner of this competition..HAHAHAHa. Hmmm you are just very paranoid and afraid that Jessica will be the Next American iDol. You don’t even deserve her talent. You should be thankful and grateful that you have the opportunity to listen to her. There are really a lot of close minded people here.
Why are you so paranoid that Jessica will really win.. Hahhaha.. Insecure… Lol.. Jessica can’t sing??? (weird) What planet are you from..? Hey Jeffrey wake up!Please come back here on earth…!!!
Well, inasmuch as I respect your opinion on this, I’d like to share mine to shed light to some misconceptions about the idol hopefuls:
First, to say that any of them can only do this or that is a bit..well, constrictive(for lack of a better term) since they are required to do different genres every week which supposedly aims to show off how well they can do in each type–see, what I take note of whenever I watch a performance is how each one is able to deal with singing something that is not their expertise: for example, Jessica is not a rock singer, but then can she sing it good even though it’s not rock-ish? Or joshua is not a pop singer, but can he deliver pop in his own style without really sounding so alien?
So far, there are only a few of them who can actually sing different genres in a good way, meaning, it may have earned some comments from the judges but captured the hearts of audiences. Jessica, for one, has already tried (and succeeded) singing different genres: disco or motown, pop ’80s, ballads, rock, soul…while the others are still crooning away in their comfort zones and are probably scared of trying something new. At least, this much I appreciate from her as an artist and I would agree with Steven Tyler when he said that “she couldn’t sing anything bad”. It may not be her forte, but she can deliver right on. Joshua can sing and perform, but I’d like to see him try other songs as well. Philip, Skylar and Hollie should also try some other stuff too to show versatility.
not bashing anynoe. I just realised haley is very flat for low notes and she has no vibrato. Pia voice is very thin and nasal. Lauren turns out to be my fav now. She can do whatever carrie does bar belting. Lauren alaina can’t belt like carrie but she is best of the season.
