This Date In Manka Bros. History – November 14, 2013:
‘Ramage Of The Stegosaur’ opens on Broadway. Based on the 2008 Manka Bros. film, the Manka Broadway production had the tagline ‘You Will Believe Dinosaurs Can Sing!’ Critics and audiences didn’t believe and it closed December 10, 2013.
Manka Bros. opened a chain a comedy clubs – Guffaws! – across the country in the 1970s which nearly bankrupted the studio. The last one, on the Sunset Strip, closed on this date in 1979.
Bulgarian fire jugglers, The Kielbasa Brothers, cause the Manka Palace Theater fire in New York when a flaming club ignites a curtain during a rehearsal. No one was killed but it did force the Mankas to exit the Vaudeville business.
