This Day in Manka Bros History – September 20, 1966:
Hundreds died and thousands were injured after Manka Music Group artist Ramsey McCak went electric at the Manka Folk Love Festival in Palm Desert. The fires burned for days and McCak was forced into hiding.
This Day in Manka Bros History- September 19, 1985:
Manka Bros tests Mankapture – a revolutionary motion capture suit which would change the special effects business forever. While several actors were badly injured during the tests, no one was killed!
Studio Chairman & CEO Khan Manka, Jr. appoints his daughter, Connie (now 15), to the Manka Bros. Board of Directors, where she is co-chair of the audit and finance.
Inspired after seeing Mont St. Michel, Simeon Manka unveils a plan to build a floating, self-sustaining, city of the future – Mont St. Manka. This model was destroyed by his brother, Harry, five minutes after unveiling because it had ‘nothing to do with motion pictures!’
This Day in Manka Bros History – September 14, 1955:
Four hundred extras from the set of the 1955 film ‘Fellow Travelers’disappeared into the Burbank mountains. During the filming of a ‘long march’-type scene in which thousands of Communists supposedly fled to Russia through a mountain pass (the Burbank mountains were used as a substitute), the extras went missing and were never heard from again. Several witnesses describe a purple and yellow glow or aura appearing over the mountain right before the disappearance. The mystery has never been solved.
