This Date In Manka Bros. History – May 26, 1939

This Date in Manka Bros Studio history May 26, 1939:

 

King Boris III of Bulgaria visits Manka Bros. and has lunch with co-founder Simeon Manka.

 

The Manka brothers were, of course, born and raised in Bulgaria, coming to America in the early 1900s as teenagers.

 

No photographers were allowed in the room or at the studio at any time during the King’s visit, only a sketch artist.
