ORIGINAL POST: There isn’t much fair about any elimination at this point.
Any one of the Top 3 would have been non-controversial as the winner.
But, let’s be serious, the closest thing to fair was tonight’s elimination of Phillip Phillips.
Sure, he’s super cute and absolutely perfect for the Name-Your-Radio-Station Beach BBQ Concert this summer.
But for him to make it further than Joshua or Jessica would have been criminal.
So – farewell, Phillip.
Wait a minute–
What the fuck? JOSHUA is the one eliminated?
Are you kidding me? But didn’t everyone hear him sing?
Seriously. Didn’t everyone hear him sing?
How could anyone with a voice like that be eliminated from any singing competition?
Oh wow – “American Idol” is completely corrupt and a joke.
But let’s not dwell on the past.
The future belongs to our final 2 – Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips.
It will be an epic battle of vocal power not seen since… Adam Lambert battled Chris whatever-his-name-is… you know, that guy that beat Adam Lambert (the person just picked to front Queen). You know, Chris – that guy with the guitar who did a commercial but not much else after he won.
Sorry, it doesn’t really matter what that guy’s name was.
It’s all about the future.
And the future, as I said, belongs to Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips.
So get ready, world, it’s on!

From her first talent show appearance at the age of 5 minutes to the “American Idol” stage, Jessica Sanchez has overcome the odds (?) and triumphed most triumphantly.

I honestly thought it was going to be Jessica and Josh. I’ve been a Jessica fan from the beginning, but I thought Josh was going to win it just because he’s a great performer and singer. I do not see Phil Phillips going up against Jessica. She’ll blow him out of the water. She’s TOO good.
The reason I didn’t think Jessica would win is because Josh was a better performer, but Jessica has paid her dues, too. Check out a YouTube video of her singing the Star Spangled Banner at a SD Chargers/NY Jets game when she was 13. 62,000 people and she hit it out of the park! The kid is fearless and she has a lot of heart. She will be the next American Idol. Although Phil may have the young girls, now that Jessica’s in she may take his fan base because of her age. All the young girls will see themselves in her. She’s been #1 in votes the past two weeks. Phil’s good, but Jessica is GREAT!
just another finale i won’t watch… america needs to vote on vocally who is best, it is a singing competition after all. phillip is creative, but in my opinion his range is limited (ie time of the season was horrendous) and everything he does starts to sound the same( unfortunate death of an artist or band) and he does sound a lot like dave matthews in style. but it is likely always better not to win that way not tied up in the binding contract that winner gets. Good luck in the future Josh.. would definitely see you perform.

If it is a SINGING contest based on “pure” ability of voice & tone then Jessica Sanchez would win Hands Down, however with the teenage girls voting based on their “hormones” then it is anyone’s title to be won!
It should be base on talent, however people vote popularity instead of talent. It should be Jessica & Joshua. Now that would be a contest. However this is no contest Jessica will blow Phillip away.
josh is so overrated. phillips is more fun to listen to compared to josh whi has this innate tendency to always do things over-the-top. it’s good that he and jessica face off on the finals.
I am sick of people with no vocal range getting into the finals over a superb vocalist and performer. Joshua was one of the best Idol contestants ever and he is eliminated by Phillip who cannot sing a tune and cant remember lyrics. I am disgusted with voters of American Idol.

So Phil sings his song that is “unlike anything we’ve *ever* heard on the radio” according to the judges. Then the next morning, I hear “The Cave” by Mumford and Sons on the radio, and I think, “That’s exactly the same song Phil was singing last night, except that’s not Phil singing it.” Am I wrong? Is it *exactly* the same — same guitar pattern, same melody, same style, same marching band percussion thing in the bridge, etc. etc.?
This will be the last season.
