Like the beast of the wood – drinking, smoking, eating, drinking, watching movies, drinking, smoking, writing reviews, and then some drinking and smoking – I am back.

And this man is in heart love with “Brave”.
Sucker for red-heads? Guilty.
Sucker for the Pixar? Even more!
Can they be better now than in the past? Hells yes.
And they have shitty, Kimmo-like accents. Only more the better than mine.
Plot? Are you kidding the Kimmo?
Amidst the wilds of the 10th Scottish Century the growing small and skilled archer Merida (Kelly Macdonald) to, daughter of King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson).
While the rebellious girl was marked with the red hair, frolicking in the first place by their father – who lost the fight with a bear leg (a bear leg! Hollywood, hear this!) – is planning her mother Elinor, with her very different things.
To Merida finally tame it is one of the sons of the leading clan lords are married and so asks the Lord MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd), Lord Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane) and Lord Macintosh (Craig Ferguson) and her sons into the castle in order to offer them at an archery competition the winner was the hand of her daughter.
Of course, Merida very different things in my head and said this team wins competition not only themselves, but evokes an old witch with a sinister curse…
What the fuck?!? Wow.
Genius.
No more spoilers.
This movie is a bomb. (Editors note: In Kimmo’s world, this means great).
My man-crush on the computer generated Merida makes me not of this world wanting to be.
Send me to Pixar land.
Let me frolic with the hot red-head pixels.
She is now my life.
Maybe with enough of the sweet, sweet smoke I can someday be there.

Pixar as we knew it is gone forever, sadly replaced by Disney Studios. Don’t let the name fool you, the creative minds of Pixar left after Toy Story 3.
Um… no. Not at all. The creative minds who made Toy Story are still there. Also, Pixar and Disney are joined (and have been for several years) but their creative teams are different. For example, the people who worked on Tangled had nothing to do with Brave. Anyway, Pixar is as flawless as ever, no clue what movies /you’re/ watching…

Brave was…good. Pixar good. Beautiful, funny, and endearing characters. Another great element in this movie not found in their previous films was the amazing soundtrack. But in this case, the story was what I found to be the weak point. I wanted to like it more. I really did. But the actual ‘antagonist’ in the movie was something I didn’t expect and didn’t really like. I’m trying not to give it away, but I wasn’t on board with the conflict they chose. I would have preferred a more typical movie, where she runs off and finds an adventure out in the world, which would have also given Pixar an opportunity to show off some beautiful scenery. Instead, it was a strange and awkward situation that never really clicked with me.
With that said, I did enjoy the movie. The opening was very strong, and had some great humor. I just wanted it to be something that it isn’t.

I saw the movie this morning and didn’t care for it. I’m 30years old though, so I don’t know how kids would like it. There are some scenes in Brave that I thought would scare kids and when I saw it I didn’t hear too many kids laugh at the kiddie jokes.
Glad you loved it Kimmo. I did too! I love everything Pixar has done so far. But the story telling in this movie was beyond excellent. I did not expect the way the story turned it based on the previews alone. The previews made me think it would be the typical disney movie where the woman is looking for a suitor and falls in love in the end. That was not this movie.
For comments about it not being for children, I highly disagree. For very young children there are some thrilling moments (i’ll hint they involved a bear, but that’s well known from the previews). Nothing graphic though, it is a family movie afterall. The ending had basically the entire theatre in tears. Last movie I cried during was Toy Story 3, last one before that was Up!. This movie reminded me of Up! in the way things unfolded (the highs, the lows and the twists and turns).
Right off the bat I fell in love with the characters. They were very charming (I guess it helps that I love the accents).
If you are a mother, I would highly recommend you take your child to see this movie! You will not be disappointed!!!
I did not see it in 3D however, the 3D theatre was packed and even the non-3D theatre was still almost at capacity.

Was at Walt Disney World last week — yep, ‘live version’ of Merida was there. No big surprise, she’s beautiful… and truthfully, genuinely sweet. And I think the unruly red mane was hers naturally — if the color was maybe enhanced a bit. It’s hard to grow technicolor hair via mere human genetics.
And as a mom, with a young tween girl [which is why I found myself waiting an hour for my kid to shoot a 5 pound bow, once] — it’s good. The character relationships felt genuine if a bit ‘broad brush,’ as it always needs to be with this sort of genre.
In literature female heroines abound. Its too ba the EXEC’s at Disney have note just recently come around to this.. My recommendation…read more books and view less movies.

Anyone who says this is emotionally lacking can go F themselves. Anyone who doesn’t freaking bawl their eyes at the end of this movie has some serious mental problems. This is a masterpiece plan and simple. Deal with it haters.

Funny zany writeup, definitely looking to see the movie. Would be great if Kimmo grows out of the immature bad-words-are-soo-cool stage – a lot more of us would enjoy the wacko review.
